What is a Heels Workshop?
A heels dance workshop is a type of dance class where participants wear high-heeled shoes, typically stilettos, while learning and performing choreographed routines.
These classes often focus on teaching dance techniques that accentuate the movements of the hips, legs, and feet, emphasizing sensuality, confidence, and empowerment. Heels dance classes can encompass various styles of dance, such as jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, or even specific genres like burlesque or exotic dance. They're popular among individuals looking to enhance their dance skills, improve their posture, and boost their self-confidence while embracing femininity and style.

This heels workshop is a special feature offered by Hello Kizomba Fest as part of your full pass purchase.

What Shoes to Wear
For your heels choose a bootie - preferably something that laces up the foot.
How to Dance Confidently in Heels
Dancing confidently in a heels dance class involves a combination of technique, practice, and mindset. Here are some tips to help you feel more confident:
1. Practice in your heels: Spend some time practicing basic movements and routines in your heels at home before your class. This will help you get used to the feeling of dancing in heels and build your confidence.

2. Focus on posture: Good posture is key to looking confident on the dance floor. Stand tall with your shoulders back and core engaged. Keep your chin up and look straight ahead.

3. Work on your balance: Dancing in heels requires good balance. Practice balancing on one foot and doing simple movements like turns and pivots to improve your balance and stability in heels.

4. Strengthen your ankles: Strengthening your ankle muscles can help you feel more stable and confident in heels. Try doing exercises like calf raises and ankle circles to strengthen your ankles.

5. Own your style: Confidence comes from within, so own your style and embrace who you are as a dancer. Don't be afraid to express yourself and let your personality shine through in your movements.

6. Focus on the music: Let the music guide your movements and get lost in the rhythm. Dancing confidently is as much about feeling the music as it is about executing the steps.

7. Practice mindfulness: Before class, take a few moments to center yourself and focus on your breath. Visualize yourself dancing confidently and successfully completing the routine.

8. Celebrate your progress: Remember that everyone starts somewhere, and it's okay to make mistakes. Celebrate your progress and achievements along the way, no matter how small they may seem.

9. Be kind to yourself: Finally, be kind to yourself and don't be too hard on yourself if you're not perfect right away. Dancing is about enjoying the moment and having fun, so focus on enjoying the experience rather than striving for perfection.
